Recital 2021

REHEARSALS: June 3-4, 2021 (DC-G Auditorium)
RECITALS: June 5-6, 2021 (DC-G Auditorium)

This page will be used to communicate important info regarding the recital, rehearsals, and pictures as recital weekend approaches!

Due to the pandemic, there are some important changes to the typical way we conduct pictures, rehearsals, and recital so PLEASE take time to read through this information thoroughly so you are aware of this year's changes, protocols, and guidelines.
Beginning next week and during the month of May we are excited to announce that we will be doing some "Viewing Weeks" at the studio. This will give parents a chance to come watch class from the lobby but allow us to minimize the amount of people in the studio.

We have set up a specific schedule of when each class will have viewing in order to avoid too many people in the lobby at one time as well as avoid class overlaps. Each class will have 2 specific weeks for classroom viewing and the designated schedule is attached for you. We will also have it hung up in the studio window for reference.

At this time, we will be limiting it to 1 parent per dancer only. Siblings will not be allowed, even if they are a student at the Superstars. We will be requiring masks to be worn by everyone in the studio and will also take temperatures of any additional persons entering the building. Our staff will first get the dancers into the classrooms and started on time and then the receptionists will open the lobby for parents. The staff may also ask you to depart moments before a class is let out to avoid a cluster of people in the lobby area.

These opportunities are also a good time for anyone who needs to purchase required studio tights for photos and recital to do so.

We ask that everyone please use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the building and to be patient and respectful of others while here. Our staff may delay in letting parents into the studio in order to do a quick wipe down or cleanup of any lobby areas that may need it as we are still keeping all of our Superstars families health as a top priority. With keeping this in mind, we are also asking our studio families to respect our instructors, helpers and staff's decision to not pose for photos with students at this time, as they too are practicing safe social distancing.

We are excited to begin seeing familiar faces once again as well as meet some of our new families! We hope that everyone will do their part to make this a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Thank you.

Students should arrive in their Navy studio tee-shirt and black colored bottoms with shoes in hand. You will need to check in your dancer at the lobby table where they will be escorted by staff to the auditorium.
** No food is allowed in the auditorium. **

Only dancers allowed in the auditorium.

Dancers will need to arrive in a facemask. It will be removed when on stage and then immediately be put back on before exiting the backstage area. Please communicate with your child if you would like them to leave their mask on while they are performing.

Parents need to pick up their child at the end of their time block inside the high school entrance. If dancers are entering 6th grade or higher they will be released to walk themselves out.

* All rec class Tap and Jazz shoes should be TAN in color unless specified by the instructor.

Hello Superstars,

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to fill out our surveys about the upcoming June recitals. Your feedback was vital in making this difficult decision. Although we are not thrilled to limit our audience this year, we are eternally grateful that we are able to have a recital and to showcase the students hard work during a very different and difficult year. With all things considered, we have therefore made the decision to stick with our 3 Show/1 Solo Showcase format and will be limiting each student to 2 guest seats per show (in which they perform).

We understand that many of our dancers often invite extended family members and friends to view their performances which is why we are excited to be working with Parkway Productions who will be providing Live Stream access to all our shows as well as top quality digital and blue ray formats for purchase. The live stream feature will be FREE, live and accessible to anyone with internet connection. We are hopeful that this will allow many others to view and enjoy the performances.

We have also made the decision that dancers will have the option to go with or without their masks when on stage. Dancers will be required to wear masks everywhere else just like all staff and audience members. We will have individual baggies and other accessories available backstage for their use should parents allow them to perform without a mask, but dancers may also choose to leave their mask on while dancing. We ask that each family make this decision on your own and discuss it with your dancer so they are aware of your decision.

In addition to the video sales we also have a few other things planned to help us stay organized during the shows and a few new surprises that we hope will make the weekend special for our dancers. More information will be published soon along with our Rehearsal and Recital Breakdowns. For now, we remind you to save Thursday and Friday, June 3rd & 4th for rehearsals (5-10pm) and Saturday and Sunday, June 5th & 6th for performances.

Thank you for your continued flexibility and support as we try our best to make this season and this recital a memorable one.

With Appreciation,

Lorainna Nedved
